Cars and Coffee – 3 August 2014

August 9, 2014 4:21 pm

It had been two months since our last attendance at Sydney Automobile Club’s Cars and Coffee at Cavallino, Terrey Hills and we’d heard that the crowds were still growing at each event! Rising early and leaving home in what we thought was good time, we arrived at 7:45am, 15 minutes before the official start time, but the early birds had beaten us there. Most parking spots were taken but we found a spot amongst the crowd, down the end of Yulong Ave.

It was packed.

Cars were parked anywhere and everywhere, with an even more diverse collection than usual on display. Like this Citroen 2CV:

De Tomaso Pantera GT5-S

Left-hook Mustang coupe

Autografik‘s Arrow Blue 911 SC crowd-pleaser and a 993 Carrera

Phoenix Yellow E46 M3

Torana GTR XU-1

Diablo VT 6.0L

993 Turbo

360 Challenge Stradale

My favourite car of the day – an original Countach LP400 “Periscopica” showing some heavy patina

The Morgan owners club came out to visit:

Though parked down from the main intersection, this Carrara White 997 GT3 RS was receiving a lot of attention:

Porsche Centre Willoughby brought out the new 991 Targa for display:

This hand-beaten, unpainted alloy-bodied GT40 replica was in prime position opposite the Cavallino restaurant:

Absolutely immaculate, fully restored Porsche 356 Speedster:

This TVR T350 Spider sounded angry:

This immaculate, low tastefully modded B7 Rs4

was hiding a little secret…

AF’s Huw dragged his Dad out of bed early and brought along his immaculate Volvo P1800 that he’s owned for the last 30 years

Another successful morning at Sydney Automobile Club’s Cars and Coffee, with a huge variety of motors on display. The car enthusiasts’ passion is plain to see and we look forward to attending again next month to see what automotive delights turn up. Hopefully we’ll be in something good enough to enter into the People Choice Award and get a parking spot in the inner sanctum.
